Kids toys and other useful things from the 3D printer

Coronavirus - covid19 - Model 3d print

Many projects and ideas have already been presented here in the blog, which can be realised quickly and cost-effectively thanks to 3D printing. It's impossible to capture and collect everything that creative minds around the world come up with.

Some funny toys for children and also helpful templates for the 3D printer from the field of living I would like to present here again. Similar to the article - Ideas for Children Toys from the 3D Printer - the 3D printing templates are not sorted by importance. So just scroll through them and let them inspire you.

3D-Printed Model: Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 / Covid-19

Corona Virus - covid19 - Model 3d printedCOVID-19 is a viral disease caused by the corona virus SARS-CoV-2. The virus first appeared in Wuhan at the end of 2019 and developed from China into the global COVID-19 pandemic. No other topic currently dominates the media as much. Lockdown, curfews, contact restrictions, economic standstill and much more, just to name a few of the consequences of the virus.

Since our daughter (kindergarten / nursery child) at first could not understand why so many people now walk around with face masks on, and she was not allowed to see her friends in kindergarten until further notice. So we tried to explain the Corona virus to her and printed out models in different sizes of the Corona virus with the 3D printer.

A really successful object for playing and learning, also for daycare centres and schools. Download at thingiverse. Printed with conventional PLA filament PLA filament, in sizes between 30% and 80%. I recommend to print with at least 40% infill. This makes the print a bit heavier but also much more stable and nothing breaks off.

Useful things from the 3D printer!

Roller blind Plastic cover plate for inlet/gear belt winders

window roller blind cover 3d printAn old acquaintance bought a small flat, which was run down by the previous owner, to put it in a friendly way. Among other things, the roller blind belt covers were no longer beautiful. But thanks to 3D-printer and the experience from 3D printing for the self-made parental control for windows and balcony doors no problem.

You simply unscrew the old part, take the measurements and transfer them to e.g. Tinkercad. Print it out and after about 5 hours 4 such cover plates for the roller blind tape were ready and could be installed.

The result is impressive, especially when you consider that some covers are no longer available and the material costs for 3D printing are negligible.

3D-Print: Baby Yoda - "The Mandalorian"

Baby Yoda 3d printedThe Disney+ channel shows the Star Wars series "The Mandalorian", which features Baby Yoda. Even though Baby Yoda is not part of the current Star Wars film "The Rise of Skywalker", a real hype has developed over the last few months about the cute little mini Yoda, who is ghosting through the social media channels in all kinds of photomontages, 3D prints and many memes and enjoys enormous popularity.

I also took the liberty of printing out a model of a Baby Yoda for the kids. Of course you can still paint it now, but I think it looks really cute and cool from the 3D printer. 🙂

Simply search at Thingiverse for Baby Yoda. A great toy, which fits in every dollhouse dollhouse depending on the scaling before printing.

Build your own family bed

When we had prepared the children's room of our daughter including wardrobe and own bed, we assumed at that time that she would also sleep there. After some time, however, we noticed, as many parents before us have, that this was simply not the time yet. Be it through thirst, hunger, toothache or night scare, … Continue reading "Build your own family bed"
